UPBEAT is the ‘Charity Of The Year’ at Sainsbury’s, Bury St Edmunds

Following a local poll of possible charities for Sainsbury’s to be involved with, Upbeat were included in the top three and following a presentation by Jill Brooks, Sylvia Baker, Colin Hands (patient representative) and Ilva Maxey (carer representative) we were selected.

Fund raising support will be provided by staff at the branch and petrol station and a program of events are being planned. A collection at the store has already taken place and just over £500 was collected during the course of the day.

We will also enjoy the benefit of raising our profile, via Sainsbury’s many customers and have a display in place in the foyer explaining our aims, objectives and facilities.

Upbeat is extremely grateful for Sainsbury’s and their staff for their welcome and enthusiastic help and together hopefully, we can achieve a great deal during the year and raise much needed financial support to help us provide the facilities and support that we give to heart patients and their carers in the West Suffolk area.
