I was born and brought up in East Anglia. As the youngest of three daughters we moved several times due to my father’s work, before finally settling in Sudbury where I went to school.
Following on from school I trained as a nurse, and on completion of training I worked in several specialities.

I was born in Kings Lynn and moved to Thetford where I grew up. On leaving school I attended a pre-nursing course at NORCAT. On completion of my course I took a full-time job with Sainsbury’s and ended up staying with them for ten years.

I was born in London but have lived most of my life in Reading in Berkshire. I have one daughter and two grandchildren who live in London.
My working career was very demanding but I always had lots of interaction with people on all levels.

I was born and raised in Yorkshire, only leaving to go to university, where I met my future husband, so after completing my degree in psychology I started a family rather than pursue a career. After two children and a few house moves around the country we settled in the Bury St Edmunds area.

I have always been a bit of a home bird really and having been born in Thetford, I didn’t really move very far to do my general nurse training at West Suffolk Hospital in Bury St Edmunds. Initially I spent my first year at the hospital as a Cadet Nurse prior to starting my Enrolled Nurse Training in 1975,
